The Group Project Manager is responsible for planning and resource allocation, preparing budgets, tracking and monitoring progress, and providing feedback to stakeholders throughout the project life cycle. Responsible for work with all internal and external clients to plan and manage projects to successfully complete the projects’ listed goals and project deliverables. Ensure that projects meet quality standards, budget requirements, and project timelines.


· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Business Management, or a related field.


· 5-8 years of project management experience, of which a major part must be in a technical / telco environment.


· Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

· Practical use of a Document Management System.

· Proficient in Project Management software applications, i.e., Jira and/or others.

· MS Project and Smartsheet project management are essential.

· Knowledge of MS Visio is a benefit.

· A technical background is a benefit.

Definition and Planning

· Facilitate the definition, idea generation and delivery of projects that link to business development and group’s

business strategies.

· Managing all stages of the project—effectively planning for both the conceptual and the production phases—as

each adheres to tasks, milestones, deliverables & deadlines.

· Coordinate efforts between responsible project executive, Accounts Management, Developers and Client across

3 specific areas: Planning, Production/Development Management, Maintenance and Reporting.

· Ensure clear understanding of project budgets and the basic revenue model.

· Understand the pricing model and billing processes.

· Validate the production brief through a comprehensive understanding of the project requirements, objectives and


· Identify Project Activities, estimate resource requirements, construct workflow and prepare project proposal:

  • Establish clear ownership for project tasks by understanding the resource requirements and deliverables.
  • Develop a detailed scope of work and project architecture based on the user journey, deliverables, milestones and dependencies.
  • Create comprehensive development and production plans, detailing activities per resource, deliverables, and milestones required—from kick-off, through all reviews, to QA, go live, project reviews, and case studies.
  • Distribute the project plan – advising project team, Client and Creative/developers of the milestones and reviews.

· Understand the implications of changes to the scope in terms of costs, resourcing and deadlines.

· Where necessary, draw up a cost estimate based on the project scope and resource requirements.

· Set up project meetings and reviews as per the plan.


· Set up a project team, establish team operating rules, assemble project resources, schedule and execute a work plan, and document work progress:

  • Executing strategy for project management that is aligned to business objectives.
  • Establish reporting protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain communication with all stakeholders throughout the project life cycle by communicating progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones and other key project metrics to the team.
  • Create customized reporting for the team and for client if needed and give project status update to the executive team.

· Work with responsible teams to ensure clients achieve an understanding of expectations, deliverables, dependencies, risks and progress throughout the project phases.

Performance and Control

· Monitor project progress against plan.

· Use established reporting protocols and procedures.

· Establish problem-resolution mechanism

  • Manage scope creep to ensure that projects are delivered on time, according to scope, budget and strategy expectations.
  • Where project control is in jeopardy, create contingency plans with appropriate input from key team members and implement a revised plan, scope and budget, if necessary, in a timely manner.
  • Raise red flags and proactively propose production or development solutions when problems do arise.
  • Implement change management procedures.
  • Revise project plan if necessary.

· Oversee client reviews and internal project reviews with the team.

· Evaluate all key project deliverables through to the final product to ensure traceability of requirements, high quality

and client approval.

· Obtain formal sign off on all project deliverables; this includes coordinating feedback and involvement from the

account management team, creative/development team and the client.

Project Close

· Ensure project legal documents are completed and signed (image rights, photo releases, model releases, etc.).

MOU’s and NDA’s.

· Conduct acceptance tests.

· Establish a rollout plan / schedule.

· Submit or hand over the project to the custodian.

· Conduct a post-implementation audit.

· Complete the final project report.
